Bikes & Boards: Logo Rebrand Proposal
Project Description:
The first step to the proposed solution will be aimed at creating a refined logo with the name “Bikes & Boards” which includes a winter sports related object such as skis, ski poles, or a snowboard. This will not only solve the lack of a logo issue, but also make it clear to potential customers that Bikes & Boards sells winter related sports equipment.

Issues Encountered:
I took an image of an actual skier in action on the slopes, and produced a black overlay. My vision was to incorporate the
new brand font on both the skis. However, the skis were too thin to contain the name “Bikes & Boards”. My ideas forced me to dive deeper into design techniques.
Solution:
As a solution, I went to Adobe Illustrator and was able to widen the outer edges of the two skis and then align the other end smaller so that it would fit perfectly with the skier’s body. Now that the skis were wider, I could fit the brand name “Bikes & Boards” within the skis so that it was legible and the primary focus of the logo. In addition, this method creates a shift in perspective and makes it look like the skier
is coming at you.

My proposal included a print campaign of the rebrand at a local ski resort “Woods Valley”. This not only directly targets winter sports enthusiasts that could be potential customers, but also a great opportunity to promote an exciting new brand aesthetic during the busy winter season.
Wood imagery provides a mimicry of Ski Resort aesthetic
For the inside, I wanted to visualize a ski-lift carrying the imagery of the inside of the shop and the winter sports items that are sold.
Adding information about the Team connects the target audience closer to the company and overall brand representation.
